Paige began her pursuit of musical excellence in Seattle when she first heard classical violin music on the radio as a very small child. She asked what made those beautiful sounds, and as soon as she knew the word, she talked of nothing else until she held a tiny violin in her hands! Paige began lessons at the age of 5, opening the door to a musical career that has spanned the globe.
Three years after her first violin lesson, eight-year-old Paige won first place in the Port Gardner Bay Concerto Competition, earning the privilege of performing the Bach E Major Concerto with the Port Gardner Bay Chamber Orchestra. She won again the following year, performing the Bach A Minor Concerto. After many competition victories around the Pacific Northwest, Paige won the most coveted American award for young musicians: the Grand Prize at the 2004 Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Competition in Kansas City.
Paige was the youngest musician ever accepted to the renowned Cleveland Institute of Music when she left her home in Washington state to pursue her musical dreams at the age of 13. Under the tutelage of Donald Weilerstein, she earned her Certificate in Violin Performance at the Cleveland Institute, as well as a GED from Washington State. Paige then moved to London in late 2004 to study with Europe's preeminent violin professor, Professor David Takeno. While studying with Professor Takeno, Paige also had the rare opportunity to study Kodaly Musicianship at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. The Kodaly Method is a Hungarian pedagogical approach that emphasizes ear training through the singing of folk songs.
Returning to the United States, Paige studied Early Music, English, and Violin Performance at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. While pursuing her degree, she also taught 20 private students, presented Handel’s Six Sonatas for Violin and Harpsichord in faculty recitals, and performed the world premiere of Cindy McTee’s Cappricio for solo violin at Orchestra Hall in Detroit. Prior to completing her undergraduate degree, Paige won her first orchestra audition in 2008 and become the youngest appointed Associate Concertmaster of the Lansing Symphony Orchestra. Continuing to expand her success in the orchestra world, Paige played professionally with the Michigan Opera Orchestra, and with the Toledo and Detroit Symphonies.
Paige won two consecutive full scholarships to the Aspen Music Festival & School in the summers of 2007 and 2008. She shared her passion for music and her astute musicianship as an Orchestral Mentor, coaching middle and high school students. In 2011 Paige was invited to Japan to perform with the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra. The PMF Orchestra presented concerts all over Japan that summer, raising money for tsunami victims. In the spring of 2012, Paige was awarded a position in the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme in Aldeburgh, England. In the summer of 2012, Paige was invited to spend eight weeks as Artist in Residence at the Banff Center for Creativity in Alberta, Canada. She presented numerous solo recitals that summer, and also served as the Concertmaster of the Banff Opera Orchestra.
Following her love for teaching, Paige continued to advance her education after graduating from the University of Michigan. She trained in musical pedagogy with Mimi Zweig at Indiana University, where she was a graduate teaching assistant in the IU String Pedagogy program. Paige earned her Suzuki Teacher Certification with master teacher Ronda Cole of Washington D.C.
In 2013, Paige won a national audition with the Cincinnati Symphony, a Grammy award-winning, Top 10 American orchestra. For the next three seasons she toured, recorded, and performed hundreds of classical and pops concerts, as well as opera and ballet productions with the CSO.
Ever the outdoor enthusiast, Paige accepted an invitation in 2016 to join the Utah Symphony/Utah Opera, and she moved to Salt Lake City to explore a new musical opportunity in the mountains. As a part of the Utah Symphony’s education initiative to bring classical music to every school district in the state, Paige performed concert tours throughout Utah in the 2016-2018 seasons. In the summer of 2017, Paige was invited to return to the Cincinnati Symphony to join them on their 9-country European tour.
In 2018 Paige won back-to-back auditions with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and the Dallas Opera Orchestra. She performed full time with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra 2018-2020, and then returned to her lifelong love of opera. She now performs first violin with the Dallas Opera Orchestra, and ducks back into the Meyerson as a guest violinist when scheduling permits. Teaching the next generation of young musicians remains at the center of Paige's heart. In addition to teaching her private students in Dallas, Paige has also served as Teaching Artist at St Mark’s School of Texas and the Uplift Peak Preparatory Elementary School, designing curriculum and teaching fourth and fifth classes.
Paige resides in the northeast White Rock Lake neighborhood of Lochwood. She is a bookworm, hot yoga practitioner, and an equestrian athlete.
